Heal your body as you sleep

November 10th, 2012

Do you meditate?

If you answered no, guess again!

Every night you go to sleep you engage in the most natural form of meditation your body can experience, says Qigong master and healer Chunyi Lin, creator of Spring Forest Qigong.

“Sleeping is a natural form of meditation and a form of Qigong,” he says, “It’s the perfect way to balance yin and yang energy in the body.”

Traditional Chinese Medicine says too much yang energy or too much yin energy can cause blockages in the body’s energy channels and lead to health problems.

“But ‘Qi sleeping’ helps to balance your energy. During sleep, the energies of the heart, mind, body, and spirit unite,” Chunyi says. “It’s so wonderful because you are practicing Qigong while you sleep!”

To help you sleep like a baby—and fine-tune your energy while you do it—consider these tips from Chunyi:

  • Exercise daily to detoxify acidic energy in the body. Walking, slow running, weight lifting, Qigong, yoga, or tai chi can all help you go deeper into sleep so the body can balance more quickly.
  • Eat a light meal in the evening, and stop eating two hours before bed.
  • Consider eating a small baked potato as part of your evening meal. This calms the energy of the brain and pancreas, helps balance hormone energy, and helps the body relax.
  • Don’t drink any tea, coffee, or alcohol at least two hours before bed.
  • Avoid watching violent movies or TV shows before sleep. “As you sleep, those images are still processing in your brain, in every cell in your body,” Chunyi says, “It can prevent you from having a peaceful sleep.”
  • Before bed, take a hot bath filled with a handful of sea salt, or soak your feet in a basin of hot water with three tablespoons of sea salt.
  • Go to sleep and wake up the same time every day to allow your body to align with its natural body clock.
  • Sleep on your right or left side or on your back. This helps balance the Qi better. When sleeping on your side bend your knees, Chunyi says, “and sleep like a shrimp, or like a baby in the womb.”
  • Avoid sleeping on your stomach, which can cause your neck to twist and energy blockages to develop gradually in your body.
  • Put a smile on your face as you close your eyes. Smiling causes your brain to send out endorphins that help you feel good.
  • Visualize you are sleeping in the cradle of the moon.
  • Relax your body from head to toe, breathing slowly, deeply, and gently.
  • Focus your attention on your lower dantian, the energy center deep behind the navel. Imagine bright, loving energy there. Send unconditional love energy to your lungs and to any part of your body where you have pain. Allow your body to feel the love.
  • Send a message to your body. For example, say to yourself, “Tonight I will sleep in eight hours of Qigong meditation. Tomorrow when I wake, all my channels are open. All the blockages in my body are gone. I am completely healed, and I feel happy and healthy.”
  • When you wake in the morning, don’t spring out of bed right away. Lie still as you take three deep breaths. Then rub your hands and massage your face. Massage your ears. Then get up and enjoy your day.

When you sleep well and feel peace in your body,” Chunyi says, “every cell has time to rejuvenate. The next morning you wake up with good energy and are ready to go!”

You can learn many other ways to balance your energy and help your body heal during the free online Spring Forest Healingfest in November. Chunyi Lin will even guide you in gentle exercises and two Sitting Meditations that develop your mental concentration and help clear your body’s energy channels to promote healing.

November 7th, 2012

Teacher and healer Chunyi Lin believes you possess the innate ability to help heal your own sickness and disease—and to help heal your loved ones—using nothing more than your own natural energy.

It may sound a bit implausible, but we assure you, it is not.

In fact, almost 250,000 people, just like you, have learned to help heal diseases such as cancer, fibromyalgia and diabetes, relieve chronic and acute migraines, ease depression and anxiety, and alleviate allergies.

Chunyi Lin would like to teach you how to use his system of healing free of charge in the upcoming online event called the Spring Forest Healingfest.

Learn to use your mind to take away stress, pain, and sickness

Chunyi’s system of healing is based on an ancient practice called Qigong. He is a Qigong Master, himself.

Qigong (pronounced chee-gong) has been around for over 5,000 years and is actually the grandfather of Chinese medicine, including Tai-Chi, acupuncture, and Shiatsu. It works with your body’s energy, or “Qi.”

As Dr. Richard Gerber puts it, “…by moving Qi through the body, you can heal yourself of many ailments.”

According to Chinese medicine, when your Qi isn’t flowing freely, you can get sick, stressed, or emotionally out of kilter. Disease, pain, and negative emotional conditions are symptoms of blocked energy. That’s why Chunyi Lin says, “Sickness is nothing to fear.”

Qigong is a way to gently and thoroughly release nearly all energy blocks and eliminate most causes of illness and imbalances.

Dr. Wang Chong Xing from the Shanghai Institute of Hypertension said in a PBS documentary that after 30 years of study, “We think Qigong can cure every kind of disease, some responding better than others.”

Practicing Qigong and using it to help yourself heal involves a simple combination of breathing, focused concentration, gentle movements, and healing meditations.

You will be able to learn this free of charge during the upcoming Spring Forest Healingfest.

Dr. Deepak Chopra said, “Like Yoga, Qigong teaches you to balance energy in your body. Master Chunyi Lin has developed an easy-to-follow program that will allow you to incorporate the health benefits of Qigong into your daily life.”

You will have complimentary access to 10 professionally produced audio sessions and two video sessions for six days beginning November 12. You will learn to harness Qi energy, you will see exactly how to practice Qigong, and you will experience powerful and beautiful meditations—all designed to raise your energy and help you heal.

The natural healing process of your body involves unblocking Qi and allowing it to flow to where it is needed. Practicing Spring Forest Qigong can accelerate the body’s natural healing process and often result in a level of healing that some consider miraculous.

Dr. Bill Manahan from the University of Minnesota Medical School said, “I would place Qigong equal in importance to the incredible discoveries in the forties called antibiotics and in the fifties called immunizations.”

How to get a Free Pass to learn from Chunyi’s

I encourage you to learn more and participate in the Spring Forest Healingfest. You can get a Free Pass right here. If you suffer from any pain, disease, fatigue, stress, or the effects of aging, or if you’d simply like to increase you energy, we believe you will find great satisfaction in the online event that begins on November 12.

How To Like People You Dislike

November 5th, 2012

If there is someone you know or work with that you just cannot stand the sight of, how can you change your negative perception on that person? How do you turn back time on someone you never liked in the first meeting?

Firstly, let us address why it is important not to think ill of someone no matter how horrible or annoying they are to you.

For starters, because it is not healthy! Not for that person but for YOU! It is very unhealthy to have negative thoughts in you. Those bad thoughts will cause you undue stress.

Secondly, that person may have really good qualities in them, but because you have planted that seed of dislike, the longer you don’t weed it out, the deeper the roots will grow. So even if that person does something nice, there is no way you will be able to see it because you would have already been blinded by deep rooted dislike.

Take it as a personal growth test to like someone you already dislike. We could all choose to be critical or we could choose to be benevolent.

Here are some steps to liking the unlikeable:

Don’t nitpick
Nitpicking on trivial matters like the way they match their clothes or the way they chew is just not worth your time. Nitpicking can drain a lot of energy from you. Before you even think about something bad, stop yourself. Tell yourself that you are the bigger person here and that trivial things are not going to ruin your day because they are not worth it.

See good
Start by seeing something good in that person. Start very small. It may be tough at first but it will get easier. Even if that person looks like a toad, there must be something nice about them. Give that person a scan (when they are not looking of course) and see if you can find something you might get to like about that person. Perhaps it is how their eyes glow when they have an idea. Or how they always wear the funkiest earrings. When you are more comfortable, search deeper like how that person always tries their best at something. Or how they are actually great with kids. By seeing good in people, you turn negative vibes into positive energy.

Turn things around
Instead of being critical and judgmental, try the opposite. For example, Joan is a grouch at work. You can choose to see her that way or you could choose to see Joan as being very professional at her job. You can choose to see Steve as a pushover and a weakling with no bones in him, or you could see him as a really nice man that just needs to meet nicer people. Or see Alan as a perfectionist rather than obsessed and problematic. There are many ways to turn things around and start seeing the light in people. Start with something small.

Put yourself in that person’s shoes. To understand where someone comes from and why they act that way, all you need is a little empathy. Someone you know talks too much and you are beginning to hate the sound of her/his voice? Slip into their shoes and think why. Maybe they cannot share their stories at home, maybe they feel the need to be part of the group, maybe they have low self-esteem. If someone is constantly sarcastic, maybe he/she’s got personal growth issues or maybe they are going through a rough time, or unlike you, they have never been taught how to communicate. Yes, you are making assumptions about their life, and yes, these assumptions are probably not true, but it will ease your annoyance and you will find it easier to get along with that person. While some may call it making excuses for the person, the bottomline is that it is better to think well than think ill.

If you are able to turn all feelings of frustration, annoyance and utter dislike for another person into good, healthy, optimistic vibes, it’s a great start to your own personal growth. It will not be an easy task, but remember these tips and you might be able to make a friend out of an enemy.

How to remove the date stamp on a WordPress 3.0 blog

January 25th, 2011

If you hop across to Toys for Kids, you’ll know exactly why you might not want a date stamp on some sites you create. Here are 3 reasons anyway:

  1. The sites stay fresh without dates
  2. They look like commercial sites, not like personal blogs
  3. They don’t betray the thought sequence of their owner

So, today I learned how to remove the date for the wordpress blog mentioned above. Of course Google was the starting point but you know what… (?)… all the discussions I found were dated. They applied to 2.x versions of WordPress. And here I was on 3.0.4 and nothing was working. Frustrating.

I found a couple of plugins and they didn’t work either. Over time I figured that these edits are theme-specific too. So all I can state with reasonable conviction is that if you’re using the theme ‘Clearstyle’ and you want to remove the date and time stamp, you can do what I did.

How to remove the date from your WordPress blog

There are 3 files you’ll have to work on in the ‘editor’ menu (under appearance) in your WP 3.0 dashboard.

  • Single.php
  • Page.php
  • Loop.php

One by one, copy the code in each of these files into separate notepad files. Save them. Now if anything goes wrong you will be able to copy-paste back the original code and your blog will run just fine.

Next, one by one, search for the code below in these files:

<td class=”clearstyle_calendar”>

<div class=”entry-meta”>

<?php clearstyle_posted_on();?>

When you find these lines of code, delete them and save each file. After you delete them in the Single.php file you will not see the date stamp in your posts. When you operate on Page.php you will remove the date from wordpress pages. And when you delete the code in Loop.php you will get rid of the date on the home page entries. That’s it… you’re done!

Now if you’re doing this with any other theme, I would like to know whether the same code and files worked. Please share your comment here. Trust this will give better initial direction anyway 😉

New Year Gift For You: 50 Minutes With Tim Ferriss On Blogging

January 24th, 2011

Ok so you’re thinking “24 days and now comes the new year gift!” Well, if you were doing the four hour work week, you’d be just about waking up on 1st Jan 🙂 … like at 2 in the afternoon or so, mathematically.

Poor joke… but anyway life isn’t so mathematical… and neither have we really mastered Tim Ferriss’ four hour work week principles… so all I can say is, “gosh! where did 24 days disappear!?” Talk about time flying. Or rather, let’s not talk about it 😉  Because here’s a very special treat!

For those of you who do not know Tim Ferriss, he’s the author of the #1 New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and BusinessWeek bestseller, The 4-Hour Workweek, which has been sold into 35 languages. He received his BA from Princeton University in 2000, where he studied in the Neuroscience and East Asian Studies departments. He developed his nonfiction writing with Pulitzer Prize winner John McPhee and formed his life philosophies under Nobel Prize winner Kenzaburo Oe.

His blog is one of Inc. Magazine’s “19 Blogs You Should Bookmark Right Now“, and it has been ranked #1 on the Top 150 Management and Leadership Blogs list. Additionally, Tim is also an active education reformer and has architected experimental social media campaigns such as LitLiberation, building schools overseas and financing more than 25,000 US students in the process.

Tim has been invited to speak at some of the world’s most innovative organizations, including Google, MIT, Harvard Business School, Nike, PayPal, Facebook, The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), Microsoft,, Nielsen, Princeton University, the Wharton School, and the Stanford Graduate School of Business. He has also been invited to speak and keynote at world-renowned technology summits including EG, FOO Camp, E-Tech, Supernova, LeWeb, and the Web 2.0 Exposition.

On the non-academic side, Tim is the first American in history to hold a Guinness World Record in tango. He’s a national Chinese kickboxing champion; a Horseback archer (yabusame) in Nikko, Japan; a Henry Crown Fellow at the Aspen Institute; an MTV breakdancer in Taiwan; a hurling competitor in Ireland; an Actor on hit TV series in mainland China and Hong Kong and a speaker of 6 languages. He’s 32.

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you a full 50 minutes with Tim Ferriss on blogging! Ta..da…!

Share this with everyone you can. Happy New Year!

3 Tips From David Wood; Master Recruiter – Online And Offline

January 22nd, 2011

I first came across David Wood sometime last year when he shot through the charts and became Mike Dillard’s #1 reseller within just a few months of becoming an online marketer. He had shared that his secret had been “massive action with articles”. That was real massive, focused action which generated leads for him… and built his list…

The MLSP system (which he and I use) put David up as a speaker since he had ‘cracked the code’ with article marketing. His webinar was the platform for him to generate scores of video testimonials. This set in place an upward spiral of trust… using which he launched himself (again) into network marketing. And the last I’d heard, he was recruiting like crazy.

In Jan 2011 MLSP brought David back to do a webinar. To share the secrets that got him to recruit 450 people directly into his primary business in 9 months and 1500 into MLSP in the last year. How does this guy do the magic, I thought. And I was on the webinar. Optin and you too can access the full recording.

Here are 3 tips from the many David Wood shared…

1. Be strong about asking people to join. Most people handle the ‘asking to join’ part lamely. But you must ask, “what did you like best about what you saw?” Or “do you see yourself making money from this?” And when you get an affirmative, straight away shift gears and ask, “so how do you spell you name on cheques Joe?” Your signup is done.

2. Always have a call to action. Whether in person, through articles, or video, specify to your prospect… “here’s what i want you to do”. Tell people what to do. Show them. Walk them by the hand. If necessary, tell people they are stupid… tell them they have a problem. Jolting them that way is often what they need. Once you are strong in your desire and focus on prosperity thinking they will fall in line.

3. Define a weekly recruiting goal; say 1 rep per 10 hours of work. Without this you could be doing a lot of work with no yardstick for the results needed to satisfy you.

To get the complete 50 minutes of tips from David Wood, drop in your details. To your success!

10 Tips To Write And Make Money

January 18th, 2011

Ok, so I was watching a video the other day. A guy called Robert Evans who has started quite a nice movement that he’s pretty passionate about. His idea is to get thinking people on one plane… by helping them write mini-books and learn how to make money from them using an online system he’s developed (and about to launch).

Since I am an author, I was happy to run through his entire hour-long video. Here are 10 ways to make money from your writings he says.

  1. Print them as a book
  2. Do an ebook
  3. Pass them around free at clubs etc
  4. Bundle them with a cd and do extra givaway copies
  5. Build a list
  6. Use smart phone apps
  7. Link the ebook to affiliate programs
  8. Write a series
  9. Create a membership site
  10. Give out free copies liberally

Now here’s the disclaimer. As a checklist this perhaps does not make much sense. So you want to check out his hour-long video (which you can pause and forward, to hear only where you need explanation). His points are lucid and good.

What I also liked were his other videos on the mindset of a writer. For instance he urges you to find a book topic by asking 3 key questions of yourself:

1. What do you want to do or have more of in your life?
2. What do people really want and desire these days?
3. Is that something that you also want in your life?

Find a match and you have a home-run! Further, to connect with your readers check:

1. What is the journey I want to take my readers on
2. What benefits do I want to deliver to my readers
3. How can I add more value

Write a desire statement… the journey comes from there. And to reach your desire, focus on your feelings by asking 5 questions:

1. How am I feeling right now
2. What’s causing me to feel that way
3. How can this feeling serve me today
4. What thoughts words or actions can i have / take today to amplify or decrease the energy of this feeling
5. How am I feeling now that i am aware of my feelings and consciously in control of how they serve me

What these questions do is help you steer along a writing process during which you detatch yourself. You develop a specific writing schedule, keep it simple and show up at your writing table every day! It’s important, he says, to be aware of the writing environment so it fosters creativity and dispels distractions. Herein you allow things to happen… even if nothing happens! In a few days you’ll start writing and 15-20 minutes a day will result in a new book every week!

Looking at these structures I think Robert’s system might be pretty good. His parting advice to avoid writer’s block certainly was… never stop at the END of a chapter / para / sentence / word he advises! Celebrate small completion successes and you’ll always be moving forward!
