I have suddenly discovered that this is a pretty good idea. Growing Orchids Indoors. It is do-able… relaxing… keeps me in tune with nature… and makes the place look great!

What else could anyone want? Of course there is an element of challenge in getting the Orchids to blossom in spite of the weather and humidity (or lack of it).

So, to meet the challenge head on, I have been doing some additional research. And http://www.GrowingOrchidsIndoors.info is the result of it. Now having put up a website to assist people interested in growing orchids indoors, my business brain pointed to the obvious need for Orchid lovers to buy stuff related to Orchids on the site as well.

So I looked up Amazon and have been floored by what I’ve been seeing the last full hour. What all people buy (and make) in this small specialized area! Here are a few samples…

Anyway I decided not to put any of the ‘salesy’ stuff on my new site as it is all about caring for Orchids and written only to be read and subscribed to by Orchid enthusiasts. If you are one, you know where to go…

Oh boy I am so happy with Hostgator I can scarcely write! Happy with their support actually. Over the last few days I have bungled so badly using a new blog building software I am learning, that I did stuff that wiped out everything I did on this blog before.

In fact this blog was down and I didn’t even know it! But as soon as a friend alerted me about that, I just thought of one recourse… www.hostgator.com. Their helpline is alive 24/7 and they are the only ones I know are contactable (I can’t think of anyone to contact on wordpress for instance).

So I started my chat… and the agent was with me for a good 45 minutes studying the back end databases of my site exclusively. I had overwritten some stuff (this new blog building software is a great gizmo, but you must read the instructions carefully ) and mangled the links. But DoOnlineBusiness.info (the mother blog – this one) was restored!

The only issue was I had been on a vacation and in 5 days of the site staying down, my alexa went for a complete toss. Having returned now and gotten back to work, I started experimenting with my new found software again. And again I bungled up some plugins.

Back to hostgator support… 7 minutes… New blog plugins back up and running.

Whew! What a relief! You can goof up your database (not recommended), your links (you’d be crazy to) or your plugins (why!!!) and hostgator can save you.

But don’t stretch your luck… it’s a little like bungy-jumping I suppose Play safe… and let me get back to my new blogging automation package!

Today I had the good fortune (and good sense) to be at the “Millionaire Maker” Seminar hosted by a man who co-authored the “Chicken Soup” series of books. Time magazine has called the Chicken Soup series the publishing phenomenon of the century. This gentleman is also the author of the “Alladin factor” and entrepreneur in 7 different industries. The name is MVH… Mark Victor Hansen… and www.MarkVictorHansen.com extols him as the ‘America’s Ambassador of Possibility’.

Mark had an interesting thing to say straight out. As he marketer, we must tell stories. He says you must learn how to tell your story fast and frequently. Understand persuasion. It takes 7 times before a person buys once.

Another nugget… Use pictures. Show the product. Most people think in images. Do it as visual download, sound bite, or through telephone access. The future of network marketing is on the phone and internet.

Mark related the story of his recent talking assignment in Thailand where people from all over East Asia had come to celebrate the awards ceremony of a networking company. This company was selling a course that promised learning ’1500 words of English for $300′. This seminar was attended by people from Mongolia who had no concept of a plane… who got into one and spent a good 6 hours in it to get to the venue and learn… they got their passports made… many were taking their first trip outside their towns!

The significance of this vivid description was to convey the impact that the network marketing model was having around the world. The awardees drove out in their new Porches, selling a $300 English speaking product.

If you ask enough people you get the results. “All the innovations I’ve ever seen are in network marketing companies. Talk to 10 people a day. Have something they want to hear about”, says MVH.

As he was personally involved with several networking companies, Mark shared the line he used in response to the question, “what do you do?”. “I triple your income and double your time.” Saying so he would shut up. And the prospect would identify him/herself.

The opportunity Mark says is the telephone. There are 5 billion cellphones. Translations are happening on the fly. You can have a global business if you learn how to use it right. The goal he says is to be an influencer of influencers.

As homework Mark strongly urged participants to write down 101 goals like your life depended on it – in 20 minutes. So while I get down to that, I’d urge you to click the best network marketing training so you don’t miss future Seminars like this one.

Ok… you are the proud owner of a domain name now and you have also seen the sense in hosting your blog on your own space rather than on a free server space with someone. A coachee of mine (is there a word like coachee?) was using this incredible backlinking software which creates email accounts with hundreds of sites on the fly and automatically creates backlinks from them to your site. Since he was on hostgator, he invoked the advanced email option in the backlinking software and happily got the software to automatically create and verify ‘variousnames@hisdomain.com’ … but here’s the tragedy …

variousnames@hisdomain.com had to first be ENABLED by the hostgator staff and forwarded to a previously set-up working email address like hisname@hisdomain.com before they became operational. Without these 2 steps one will not get the benefit of the “catch-all” property of the hostgator email system.

Fortunately not much was lost and my coachee was back on track with anyword@hisdomain.com being received at hisname@hisdomain.com in a matter of minutes. But I thought I’d write this post so anyone else wanting anyword@theirdomains.com would know that they must:

1. Contact hostgator staff (live chat) to “enable catch-all” – it is not ON by default

2. Forward the catch-all to a working address which is the ‘default@theirdomain.com’

Only when these 2 steps are done would hostgator email receive mail for anyword@yourdomain.com. And this feature is amazingly useful if you’re using the backlinking software we use for results like this << must watch video!
